Know what you're building
before you build it.

Software rarely fails in engineering. It fails because nobody agreed on what to build. Discovery is a fixed-scope, fixed-price engagement that ends with a specification any team could build from, a prototype you can click, and a number you can budget against.

Engagements · Fixed scope

Three ways in.

Pick by what you're holding today — an idea, a hunch about AI, or a product that has started to fight back.

Web & Mobile 4 weeks

Product Discovery Sprint

For teams who know they need an application but not its shape. We run the kick-off, interview the people who will actually use it, and come out with something buildable rather than a slide deck.

  • Kick-off workshop & stakeholder interviews
  • User flows and full screen inventory
  • Clickable high-fidelity prototype
  • Technical architecture & stack decision
  • Written specification with scoped feature list
  • Build estimate, timeline and team plan
$3,500+
Agents & Copilots 3 weeks

AI Agent Blueprint

For teams who want an agent but aren't sure which job to give it first. We score candidate use cases against your real data, tools and permissions, then specify the one actually worth building.

  • Use-case shortlist & scoring against ROI
  • Data, tool and permission inventory
  • Agent architecture & model selection
  • Evaluation plan and guardrail specification
  • Human-in-the-loop workflow design
  • Pilot spec with measurable success criteria

Platform & Architecture Review

For teams whose product has started slowing them down. We audit what exists, then answer the only question that matters: rebuild, refactor, or leave it alone and spend the money elsewhere.

  • Codebase & infrastructure audit
  • Performance and hosting cost profiling
  • Rebuild vs. refactor recommendation
  • Target architecture & migration path
  • Risk register with delivery sequencing
  • 12-month engineering roadmap

Smaller doors.

Not every question needs four weeks. These exist for the ones that don't.

/ 01 · One day

Kick-off Workshop

One session with your decision-makers that turns a vague idea into a written brief and a rough shape. Often enough on its own.

Feasibility Check

Can this be built, with what, and roughly for how much. A short written answer, quickly — before you commit a budget to finding out.

Fractional CTO

Weekly technical sparring for founders without an in-house CTO. Architecture calls, hiring input, vendor and agency review. Three-month minimum.

How it runs · 04

Four steps to a build plan.

Reviewed with you at the midpoint, not sprung on you at the end.

/ 01

Intro call

We work out whether you need discovery at all. Sometimes the answer is no — and we say so rather than sell you one.

Kick-off & interviews

A half-day kick-off with your decision-makers, then interviews with the people who do the work today. Constraints surface here, not in month three.

Prototype & architecture

Screens you can click and an architecture you can argue with. One review session mid-way so nothing drifts.

Weeks 2–3

Specification & estimate

The written spec, build plan, cost and timeline — handed over as files you own, whoever ends up building it.

Week 4
Terms

Fixed scope — and the fee comes off the build.

No hourly billing. Scope and deliverables are agreed before we start, and anything outside them is quoted separately rather than absorbed quietly. If you go on to build with us, the discovery fee is credited in full against your first invoice — so the only thing you're really risking is the four weeks.

Billing
50% at kick-off, 50% on delivery. Invoiced in GBP, EUR or USD.
Credit
100% of the discovery fee is credited against the build if you continue with us.
Ownership
Specification, prototype and source files are yours from day one — no licensing, no lock-in.
Confidentiality
NDA as standard. KVKK and GDPR-compliant handling, with additional protocols on request.
What you walk away with

A spec any team could build from

Frequently asked

Before you ask.

The six questions that come up on almost every intro call.

We already know what we want. Do we still need discovery?

Often not. If you arrive with a written specification and settled designs, we'll say so on the intro call and quote the build directly. Discovery exists for when the shape is still moving — paying for it when it isn't is just a slower start.

Why isn't the full price on the page?

Because scope is what moves the number. A four-screen internal tool and a consumer app with payments, offline sync and two integrations are both "an app", and pricing them identically would be dishonest. We price after the intro call — and once agreed, the price is fixed.

Do we have to build with you afterwards?

No. The specification, prototype and files are yours to take to any team. The credit only applies if you build with us, but there is no clause obliging you to — and a spec written to be handed over is a better spec.

What do you need from our side?

Roughly six to eight hours across four weeks: the kick-off, a handful of interviews, and two review sessions. Most of that is access to whoever actually knows how the work gets done today — that person matters more than the org chart.

Can you work alongside our existing engineering team?

Yes, and most architecture reviews run exactly that way. The roadmap is written for your team to execute, not for us to be indispensable to. We can also stay on afterwards as a fractional CTO if you want a second pair of eyes during delivery.

What if discovery concludes the project isn't worth doing?

That is a legitimate outcome and we write it up plainly, with the reasoning. Finding out in four weeks costs considerably less than finding out nine months and a full build later.

The first call is free.

Thirty minutes to work out what you're actually trying to build. If discovery isn't what you need, we'll tell you that instead of selling you one.
